POST REMOVAL OF ATATURK STADIUM
National Competition: Equivalent Prize / July, 2014
Post Removal of Ataturk stadium competition was organised by chamber of architects Eskisehir city branch in order to cultivate ideas regarding the future of public space which is to become available after the planned removal of Ataturk Football stadium of the city. Considering the city had a history of use and manufacturing of construction brick and terra cota, our proposal aimed to bring a new interpretation of use of brick laying as main space making strategy coupled with an idea of focal point. Geometric waves emerging from the determined focal point causes folding of the surface which potentially creates structural vaulting on the brick-made surfaces.
